Why Chelsea Should Sell This €48 Million Star To Premier League Rivals If They Get The Right Offer

It’s already late October and you know what that means: it’s time to talk about the possible arrivals and exits from the most important clubs in the world, as the bigger contenders will be looking to provide a big improvement for their rosters so they can make a run when it matters the most, in the second half of a very long season.

Despite having said that his team was complete, Pep Guardiola’s recent struggles are making the Spanish boss reconsider that statement, and some reports indicate that he’ll be looking to add some key pieces for his Manchester City during this January’s transfer window.

Manchester City hasn’t earned three points in the past 5 matches, losing against Tottenham, being thrashed by Barcelona and earning a draw with Celtic, Everton and Southampton after a 10 game perfect start to the Guardiola era, so he’ll be looking to change things and take back momentum as soon as he can.

So according to the reports from the Metro, the Spaniard wants one of his former employees back at his side in this new stint at Etihad Stadium, as that player is also having a really hard time at his team right now. Of course, we’re talking about Cesc Fabregas, who could provide a big boost in the creative duties for the Citizens.

Fabregas, who is rated at €48 Million by the CIES Football Observatory, is really struggling to get some playing time for Antonio Conte at Chelsea despite bailing him out in a couple of opportunities while coming from the bench and showing a very great performance overall in those few minutes he’s actually been able to be on the pitch.

Chelsea to receive £20m offer for Fabregas from Premier League title rival

That situation caught his former boss’s attention, who knows more than anybody what Fabregas is capable of doing after signing him from Arsenal to play for his outstanding Barcelona from 2011 to 2014, where he shockingly returned to London but to play for one of the biggest Gunners’ rivals, Chelsea FC.

Cesc has only made 6 appearances for Chelsea so far this season, with half of them being starts but two of them playing along substitutes in the League Cup. However, in those few minutes, he’s been able to score two goals and record a pair of assists, but even that hasn’t been enough for Conte to change his starting XI and relieve him from the bench duties.

The Spaniard had already rejected several offers from some Serie A sides before the start of the season, being constantly linked with Juventus and AC Milan, before eventually deciding he wanted to fight for his place at Stamford Bridge.

However, given the known rapport existent between Fabregas and Guardiola, we all know he’d come back to his buddy’s lap as soon as he gets the chance without needing much convincing, and for only 20 million he could be doing so in just a couple of months.

Fabregas is just 29 years old and even if his level has considerably declined from his Arsenal days, he can still be a very efficient and productive player. Besides, he’ll help get some pressure off from Kevin De Bruyne’s and David Silva’s shoulder, as City doesn’t have a lot of depth for the attacking midfielder position.
