Chelsea Player Ratings vs Crystal Palace: Another Good Defensive Show From The Blues

Chelsea Player Ratings vs Crystal Palace

The Premier League has new Champions! Chelsea defeated Crystal Palace in a London derby and a nervy game was done by Eden Hazard scoring the only goal of the game. Palace did come here to stop the inevitable but Chelsea were in no mood for that and secured the title with 3 games to spare. It was another good defensive display from the blues. We look back at their performance and rate the player performances for the Blues.

Terry
Terry

Thibaut Courtois: 7/10

The Belgian goalkeeper didn’t have much to do but was brilliant in the final few moments as he denied Zaha to give Chelsea the victory.

Branislav Ivanovic: 7/10

Ivanovic was his normal self, doing brilliantly in defence and bombing ahead to support the attack, he did have a few issues with Zaha but he dealt with it pretty well.

Gary Cahill: 7/10

Cahill had a decent outing and was his solid self during the game, didn’t really have much to do all game.

John Terry: 8/10

Terry showcased all his big game experience and took on the mantle of keeping the team in place and not letting the occasion get to them.

Cesar Azpilicueta: 7/10

Bombed up and down the left to support Hazard when needed, Cesar was good in his defensive duties as well and kept the Palace attack quiet.

Nemanja Matic: 8/10

Another solid display by the Serbian, Matic did his usual job of cleaning up everything in front of his defence like he has done for most of the season.

Cesc Fabregas: 6/10

Cesc might not be hitting the right notes at the end of the season and probably needs a rest but he did have a decent game for Chelsea and should be looking ahead to a new season for the Blues.

Juan Cuadrado: 5/10

Cuadrado still does not look like the player he was at Fiorentina, he needs more time but that could be a problem as at Chelsea, no one is presented with so many chances.

Willian: 7/10

Willian again was hugely impressive for Chelsea in both attack and defence as he provided the team with an outlet while helping out the defence when required.

Eden Hazard: 8/10

Won the penalty for Chelsea, missed it, skipped a heartbeat somewhere and slotted home the rebound, not the cleanest or best of goals but probably one of the most important of his career.

Didier Drogba: 7/10

Not the performance that we have seen earlier for Chelsea but Drogba was decent and now can claim his 4th Premier League title with the Blues.

Substitutes

Jon Obi Mikel: 6/10

Was brought on at half time for Cuadrado and helped Cesc play a little up front.

Kurt Zouma: 5/10

Came on late to help the team and saw off anything that came towards him.

Filipe Luis: NA

Came on in the last minute for Hazard and didn’t do much to get a rating for the game.
