It was a very good day for Chelsea as they now go 7 points clear at the top of Premier League table by sealing 3 points at Villa Park. But it was not an easy fixture for Chelsea because this was the time when Aston Villa’s survival instincts were ignited and they proved to be a real threat throughout 90 minutes. But Chelsea came out on top after Aston Villa’s equalizer. Both teams were neck to neck in possessions but Chelsea attempted more shots on goal and also edged in creating more chances.

Thibaut Courtois: 6.8

Thibaut’s performance was only satisfactory he blocked and cleared a few shots but was not impressive during corners and set pieces especially when he was surrounded by players around him.

Branislav Ivanovic: 8.0

Branislav was impressive yesterday was noticeable in both attack and defence made many important clearances, tackles and blocks. His volley in the 68th minute sealed the victory for the Blues.

John Terry: 7.0

Terry was decent yesterday was impressive in air but could not win any tackle but made a few important blocks and cleared the ball on multiple occasions. Overall he played a big role in defence.

Gary Cahill: 8.2

After a few bad performances in recent weeks Cahill finally impressed Jose by his outrageous performance yesterday. Cahill made 11 clearances, won 67% of his aerial duels and also made some important blocks.

Cesar Azpilicueta: 7.3

Dave was very good yesterday contributed in both attack and defence attempted a few crosses which were all successful. Last but not the least he was the one who assisted the winner.

Nemanja Matic: 8.5

He has again proved why he is the best defensive midfielder in the world, his performance yesterday was outrageous none of the Aston Villa attackers were successful in going past him. He made 11 clearances, won 57% of the tackles he attempted and blocked 3 shots.

Ramires: 7.0

Ramires’s performance was above average his contribution in defense was really impressive but his contribution is attack was not good enough, he also missed one chance to score a goal.

Willian: 8.2

He again proved why he is the king of right side by giving another classy performance. He created a few chances, gained possession on many occasion, his tackles were perfectly timed, crosses were pinpoint and he also assisted Hazard’s goal.

Oscar: 6.8

As always Oscar was industrious on the field but in the end it was not his day. His presence was noticeable in both attack and defense but not really fruitful but his passing and crossing was impressive.

Eden Hazard: 9.2

The world beater gave an outstanding performance and again proved why he is the best young footballer these days. He was all over the field involved in every build-up, he also made defensive contributions, in the absence of Fabregas he was the one who was crafting chances and also scored a goal.

Didier Drogba: 6.2

Drogba’s performance was below average, he made some runs but could not attempt any shot on goal and also didn’t create any chance to score goals he was good in air though.

Substitutes

Loic Remy: 6.0

He came on in the 64th minute but did not impress as he could not any shot on goal neither did he create any chance.

John Obi Mikel: 6.5

Mikel was brought on with the intension of protecting the lead and was decent in doing the job.

Juan Cuadrado: 6.0

It was a winning debut for the Columbian but he had very little work to do yesterday. Unfortunately we did not get any glance of what Cuadrado can do.
