Mourinho Eva Carneiro saga takes a new twist
According to Sky Sports, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho had insulted the club doctor Eva Carneiro by labelling her a “slut” during Chelsea’s Premier League opener against Swansea last weekend.
Sky Sports have published a transcription of the exchange, which took place in Portuguese and includes two insults directed towards Carneiro by Mourinho.
Jose Mourinho was so furious with his doctor’s act and yelled ‘Hija de puta’ which means ‘a slut’ in Portuguese. Mourinho had further said “Para carajo” during his touchline outburst, which can be translated as “for f**k’s sake.”
Not only do these reports indicate a massive lack of respect on Mourinho’s part, but what must not be neglected is the fact that Carneiro had no option but to enter the field of play after having been waved on by the referee.
During the injury time of the match, Eden Hazard had picked up an injury and team doctor Eva Carneiro ran into the field to treat the Belgian star. That left Chelsea left with 9 players on the pitch as goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois was sent early in the second half. Mourinho later said that Eva should have been aware of the situation as the defending Champions had only 9 men on the field during their search for an equalizer.
