Chelsea Latest: Striker Reveals Talks With Mourinho

Lukaku  the real successor of Drogba?

When Romelu Lukaku personally announced on his twitter account that he would be moving to Everton on a loan deal, many eyebrows were raised. He was being portrayed as the next Drogba by the supporters and the media alike and thus his transfer was particularly hard to take. Lukaku, himself made his intentions clear about staying at Chelsea and fighting or his place. Many perceived this as a hard lobbying of Jose Mourinho who did not want the youngster in the club. But today Lukaku has stated that the decision to move to the Merseyside club was taken after a discussion with Mourinho and indicated that he would love to play for his club once the deal ends.

“Contrary to what some have said, I am very happy. The conversation I had with Jose Mourinho remains private. I could have stayed at Chelsea but it’s important at my age to play a lot. My goal is to play in the World Cup and be a good striker for Chelsea in the future.”

Lukaku also had an offer from West Brom, for whom he played last season. Regarding that he said the following.

“Everton I think is a bigger club than West Bromwich. At West Brom, I learned a lot and the club helped me a lot. I would also like to thank the coach of this club but now, I crossed into a new stage. This is a fresh start and a new challenge for me.”

Another of Chelsea youngster has been enjoying regular playing time under Mourinho and has praised him to be one of the great coaches. Brazilian Oscar has tipped Chelsea to be one of the big deal this season.

It’s been great to work with Jose Mourinho,” he stated. “He is one of the best coaches in the world. We have seen he has already had a lot of success at Chelsea and I am just really happy to have the opportunity to work with him,’

“As early as pre-season we could see the belief with which he works. We could see the confidence he has with us as players but also the confidence within his own work. It is clear to us that he is a great coach, “he added.
