Chelsea Latest Including Torres And Lucas Piazon

There are transfer rumours that are doubtful, then there are rumours that are hilarious, then there are rumours that are outrageous and then there are transfer rumours that will absolutely take you off your feet.

One such rumour has been made by Spanish newspaper AS and Catalan Daily Star, when they claimed that Barcelona are supposedly lining up for a bid for Fernando Torres, Yes TORRES! Now this may shock you to such extent that you may just fall off your chair after reading this. But to understand this move you first need to know one basic fact. However a  flop Fernando Torres is considered in England, he is still hailed as one of the national heroes in Spain and with the Catalans looking for a replacement for David Villa, it is claimed that they want to fit Torres in that slot.

Torres has had some tremendous games with Liverpool when he first arrived in England from Atletico Madrid and soon rose to the level of one of the best strikers in the modern day game, which was succeeded by a massive £50m switch to Chelsea and what followed him was a disaster. His form deteriorated absolutely and he was subjected to all kinds of ridicule by the fans and the general public.

However, this season, although sporadic, he has shown his first glimpse of form for Chelsea after he marched onto score more than 20 goals across all competitions. This motivated Atletico to make a bid for him as a replacement for Monaco bound Falcao and again make their one time hero return to the club.

But if the recent reports are true, then it would be the biggest surprise signing of the season as no one could have imagined it even a few days before. Barcelona have already acquired Brazilian starlet Neymar and now they want an out and out target man. Torres, whose game has suffered since the injury, can be quite a decent replacement for the relatively slow pace of La Liga compared to English Premier League.

But then if Barcelona have to pay around £20m for him, it may just be too much of money spent on a man whose past records have been murky.

We just need to keep an eye on the happenings.

In other news,  Lucas Piazon, the Brazilian forward who spent the second half of last season on loan at Malaga has expressed his feelings on his future and claims that he is unsure of what lies ahead of him.

“It’s hard to say how often I will play or if I will play at all,” he told ESPN Brazil. We have to wait and see if any Premier League clubs will be interested in me.”

The 19-year-old joined the Blues from Sao Paulo in 2011.
