Chelsea Latest Including Mourinho’s Rooney Hint And Luiz Gustavo Transfer

Jose Mourinho claims that Chelsea don’t need to sell any player in order to bring Wayne Rooney to Stamford Bridge. This England international has been linked with the West London club ever since the transfer window started.

Mourinho has admitted that so far he hasn’t proposed any further interest for the striker. But in coming weeks the scenario may get changed as an improved bid is expected to reach Old Trafford. So far, Wayne Rooney is a hot gossip in transfer season following his dispute with the former Red Devils manager Sir Alex Ferguson. Though former Everton manager David Moyes has replaced Sir Alex and affirmed that he won’t sell Rooney, but a lucrative offer may change the whole state of affairs. Apart from Chelsea, North London club Arsenal are also believed to be in the race for the 27-year old striker.

When the press asked Mourinho whether he would propose a whopping £50million bid for the United forward, Mourinho replied:

“The striker I want doesn’t cost £50m.”

It is believed that Mourinho will offer an amount of approximately £30miilion for the striker. He also stated that Chelsea have enough credibility to buy player in that range without selling anyone.

“The club are working hard to keep the numbers in balance but we can still invest in a player who costs £20million, £25m, £30m and not break the balance,”

“We don’t need to sell to do that.”

So far, Rooney has scored 197 goals in 401 appearances for the Red Devils and won a host of titles including the Champions League. The dispute with his current club took place last season when Van Persie joined United and became the main striker and Rooney was forced to play in a supporting place.

In other news, Mourinho is looking to set up the Chelsea’s defensive midfield. Rumours are that Mourinho is eyeing for Bayern Munich’s Luiz Gustavo. It is believed that this Brazilian International is insecure about his place in the German club following Thiago Alcantara’s joining Munich. While the 2014 FIFA World Cup is just a year ahead, this defensive midfielder desperately wants a first team exposure. Mourinho will surely grab the opportunity.
