Chelsea have often been accused for their inability to utilise their youngsters in a good manner and sending them on loan to different clubs. And this year was no different as the Blues fans witnessed their prized assest, “the heir to Drogba’s throne” Romelu Lukaku being sent on a season long loan to Everton in the final minutes of the transfer window. Apart from Lukaku, Victor Moses (for obvious reasons), Thibaut Courtois, Oriol Romeu and Wallace have also been sent out on loan to different leagues. But Chelsea chief Michael Emenalo has now tried to defend the loan policy of the club.

“The loan process at Chelsea has become very professional and a good deal of thought has gone into it. We don’t send players out because we are trying to recover some money, we send them because we want them to play and develop and we want to monitor them. We have a system in place, headed by me and with Eddie Newton supported by [head of player welfare] Kevin Campello, that means we keep a close eye on them and the manager knows exactly what is happening at all times,” he mentioned to chelseafc.com.

The Chelsea supporters would also want these players to come back to the club after their loan spell and be successful in a Blue jersey as most of the players are considered as the next big thing and football lovers all over the world would love to see them in the Premier League.

In other news, Chelsea are monitoring a defender.

Chelsea captain John Terry is approaching the twilight of his career and now the manager must be looking to replace with another quality player. It is being reported that Chelsea have already identified Porto player Eliaquim Mangala as the potential replacement and although the player is valued at £30m, the London team are ready to shed that amount for him.

“People talk about my valuation as high but it is not me who prices me. But it does not affect me, my job is to come and perform at my best on the green surface,” the player said in a recent interview.

He has already shown a lot of promises and if Chelsea delays too much to get his services, some other top team will surely nail him down.
