Chelsea, Juve & Inter Receive Transfer Boost As Bayern Munich Manager Won’t Sign Their €80 Million Target

Marco Verratti

Chelsea were linked with a move for midfield ace Marco Verratti last month and had reportedly made the Paris Saint-Germain star their No 1 transfer target. Reports suggested Antonio Conte was keen to land the 24-year-old and the Blues were readying a £30 million bid.

However, the Italy international’s agent Donato Di Campoli has since dashed any clubs’ hopes of luring him away from PSG. Though, the Italian playmaker’s contract runs out in 2021 and there are rumors that he is wanted by many elite European clubs in the coming summer transfer window.

Reports have also claimed that Bayern Munich are keen on a deal, with PSG valuing the midfielder at £69 million, but the Bayern boss has called off the deal claiming that,

“Marco is under contract with PSG and will stay there for long time. I haven’t talk to him in the last three months and there are no chances to see him join Bayern Munich. Let’s forget it.”

This news brought delight to Chelsea, Juventus and Inter Milan as the three clubs could now battle it out on signing the maestro from Paris, although he is rumored at an €80 million price.

Verratti joined PSG in 2012 from Italian side Pescara, signing a five-year deal with the French capital club. The midfielder has since helped his side win the Ligue 1 title on four occasions.

He has made 181 appearances for PSG, scoring five goals and providing 31 assists and established himself as a key figure in the squad’s midfield.
