Has Didier Drogba’s permanent (perfect replacement) finally arrived at Stamford Bridge? Well according to Punto Pelota the answer is yes. Pelota says those close to the high end of the international transfer market insist Falcao will move to Chelsea next month.
Falcao has been a target of the Blues ever since Drogba left them and the continuous decline of form from Fernando Torres has made club owner Roman Abramovich to look out for a superstar and Falcao fits every inch of it. In the never ending transfer saga, last month the news broke out that the Blues are ready to break the back for Falcao and may go the extend of meeting his €60 million buy-out clause if they have to during the winter transfer window. Abramovich is also willing to pay his target a whopping £200,000-a-week deal in a bid to lure the Colombian to west London next month.
Chelsea and Real Madrid were the two main clubs looking for the signature of El Tigre apart from a few oil riched clubs from China and Russia. With a prospect of avoiding the rage from Atletico’s fans Atletico legend Paulo Futre warned Falcao against joining Real Madrid as it could turn into a nightmare for his family living in Madrid. Chelsea seems the only possible destination for Falcao and if the Blues are ready to meet his buy-out clash it will be a blessing in disguise for the Capital club.
Chelsea remain the bookmakers’ favourites to win the race to sign Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao ahead of the transfer window reopening on January 1st.
