Chelsea Face A Tough Time Battling For The Transfer Deal Of This 20-year Old Danish Star

Share

Chelsea loaned out Andreas Christensen to Borussia Monchengladbach on a two-year deal. While the deal seemed like a good idea last year the Blues are facing difficulty in keeping hold of their player now.

The 20-year-old Christensen is halfway through the loan deal and Borussia Monchengladbach wants to make the move a permanent one. Last season the young player impressed the German club and went on to make 31 appearances. Gladbach has qualified for a Champions League spot this season. The Germans like him so much that the club has already approached Chelsea with an offer of £14.25 million but it was rejected.

Gladbach, however, have not given up and is still pursuing the chase to sign him. Max Eberl, the club’s sporting director has even spoken publicly saying, “We absolutely want to sign him”. The German outfit feels that Chelsea will eventually agree but a bigger offer is needed to pursue the Blues. The question is, what does Christensen want?
