Not often would you hear a manager praise his players before admitting they are too small for the club they play for. Well, Fiorentina manager Paulo Sousa has seemingly surprised the media with his comments made on his winger Federico Bernardeschi.

Ahead of Fiorentina’s match against PAOK Salonika Sousa admitted, “I wanted to say what I said. Bernardeschi has so much quality that will take him to a club with more ambition than Fiorentina”.

Sousa seemed adamant about his player sticking with the same club claiming that he deserves much more in terms of joining a better club, because of his immense quality.

Sousa also mentioned, “Federico is growing in this position [and] he is giving us lots of solidarity, he still has to grow a lot [and] we work so that he is effective in every situation. He is a player that can help us win matches.”

The current Gigliati forward Federico Bernardeschi is a player who wears the No.10 jersey, but he often operates in wide positions on the pitch. The 22-year-old has been considered to be one of Italy’s brightest young prospects in recent years and his recent form has been impressive.

The Italian international has a host of clubs from the Premier League lining up offers with Chelsea being the latest among the admirers. Antonio Conte seems to be interested in purchasing the attacker, who would fit into his formation that has turned Chelsea’s fortune’s this season.

The two Milan clubs are reportedly interested in signing the sensation who might not yet be at the peak of his powers as of yet but it is highly unlikely the Fiorentina hit-man would leave to play for another Italian club after expressing his love and commitment for the La Viola outfit.
