Chelsea Continue To Hunt For Another Striker Following The Signing Of Michy Batshuayi

Chelsea has already released Radamel Falcao and Alexandre Pato from their squad. While it looks like that the signing of Michy Batshuayi will be announced in the next 48 hours, the future of Loic Remy and Diego Costa, the only two recognized strikers, remains in doubt.

However in a turn of events, Graziano Pelle will become available as his current club Southampton has decided not to extend his contract which will expire next summer. It makes economical sense that the player is sold this season instead of letting him leave for free next season and Everton and Chelsea are believed to be in the running to sign Pelle. With the likelihood of Costa leaving for Atletico in the summer increasing and Loic Remy almost certain to leave Stamford Bridge, Chelsea will definitely need a second striker along with Batshuayi. The only question is, will this 30 year old striker, Pelle, be a good decision?

Pelle has worked with Antonio Conte at the Italy national team until recently when they lost to Germany. Similarly the new Everton boss Ronald Koeman is also the old boss of Pelle at Southampton.
