Reports accoring to the Sun have suggested that Antonio Conte has reignited his interest in Kalidou Koulibaly. Initially, Chelsea had ruled out a mega £50m move for Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly in January – because he’s going to the African Cup of Nations. But it appears they will be luring him to Stamford Bridge again next summer.

A source in Italy said: “It is impossible for Koulibaly to go to Chelsea in January because of the African Cup of Nations.”

“He is happy at Napoli, wants to stay there and likes it in Serie A. He won’t be sold until June.”

The centre-back is considered to be fast and strong who is also a good passer of the ball something that should fit in well with Conte’s 3-5-2 renowned system. The centre-half is one of Napoli’s strongest assets and therefore will not be leaving for cheap.

Koulibaly signed a five-year deal with Napoli recently in September which tie’s him down till 2021 which has priced his release clause at a staggering €70-80million.

Therefore an extremely high price is set to land the Senegalese, although Napoli confirmed they have rejected many bids for Koulibaly they have also left a door open for a possible transfer in the future, which may likely be Chelsea.

Koulibaly started his career with French outfit Metz before moving to Belgian side Genk. He joined Napoli for £6.5m in 2014, where he has made 60 appearances and scored one goal.
