Chelsea’s long time Belgian target, Marouane Fellaini could be the latest player to join the club. He is seen as the perfect replacement for club legend Frank Lampard.
Fellaini has been on Chelsea’s radar for some time, while Manchester United have also shown interest, while team-mate Leighton Baines is believed to also be a target for both clubs.Chelsea are reported to have made a bid between £25m-£30m and this should be enough to get his services.
Everton have had losses in the past year and the cash strapped club could sell one big player to cover up for their losses. The departure of either Baines or Fellaini could see the club overcome the £10m loss from last year. Apart from this, the club has a £40m debt which also needs to be cleared.
But Manager David Moyes still feels he could retain all his players.
“I don’t really study the figures because it’s not my department,” he said.
