Everton had one of the better transfer windows where they landed former Juventus star Moise Kean.
The Toffees were expected to be one of the teams challenging for a top six spot, however, they have lost two games from their opening five fixtures.
Losing to Bournemouth in the previous game could be considered a blip, but the Blues were on the wrong end of a 2-0 scoreline against Aston Villa earlier too.
The Toffees started their campaign with a 0-0 draw against Crystal Palace and they next face Sheffield United in a huge game at Goodison Park.
Charlie Nicholas provided his views on Everton’s prospects and the former Arsenal star claimed Marco Silva could be sacked if he didn’t get the right results in back to back games (h/t Sky Sports):
“I am not convinced by Everton. They are two bad results from sacking Marco Silva.
“They supported him in the market, but I was not quite sure where he was going with it. It is his responsibility to start getting results.”
The pundit also had a go at Dominic Calvert-Lewin with the youngster not banging goals in regularly:
“Is he going to play Moise Kean or Dominic Calvert-Lewin? The latter is not going to get you goals. You need goals.”
However, Nicholas added that Everton have a decent front four if Richarlison and Gylfi Sigurdsson are all played together.
The former Gunner also backed Everton to get the win over Sheffield, but only just as the likes of Wolves and Leicester continue to grow and push for a place in the top six.
The former Hull City manager seemed to be a good choice initially but things haven’t gone his way since taking over at the Blues.
The second half of the previous season saw the Toffees pick up some impressive results, however, the progress hasn’t been there for all to see under Silva.
