McGregor To Start – (4-2-3-1) Unstoppable Celtic’s Predicted Line-Up To Face Inverness

Unstoppable Celtic’s Predicted Line-Up To Face Inverness

It’s been 32 domestic games and 21 consecutive Scottish Premiership wins for Celtic, and it just doesn’t appear any club in the land is capable of seeing them off anytime from now.

Caley Thistle hosts the league leaders at the Caledonian Stadium tonight, and if the relegation battlers will be able to cause an upset or not remains to be seen.

It’s the 4th time Inverness will be meeting Celtic, across all competitions this season. Their previous meeting being a 6-0 demolition by Celtic in the 5th round of the Scottish Cup a little over a fortnight ago, and a 3-0 result in favour of Celtic back in November, while the other 2 results were draws – Celtic’s only thus far this season.

A routine win is expected on Wednesday night as Celtic continue to build on their 24-point lead on top of the log, and here is how Brendan Rodgers may line up his charges.

Formation : 4-2-3-1

GK – Gordon

The goalkeeper has kept 15 clean sheets in 23 league appearances, playing a huge role in ensuring the Hoops stroll to victories and another huge performance can be expected from him tonight.

LB – Tierney

The teenage sensation has continued to provide the attack with a lot of support from defence and is set to continue that tonight in his 15th league appearance of the season.

CB – Sviatchenko

With Jozo Simunovic doubtful with a knock, the Dane is set to make his 21st appearance in the heart of the Celtic defence and will hope to justify his selection with a fine performance.

CB – Boyata

It’s been a steady rise for the Belgian centre-half who has appeared in all of Celtic’s last 7 league games and would be making his 8th appearance of the term against Inverness.

RB – Gamboa

The Costa Rican has had Mikael Lustig to contend with for the right-back berth all campaign, but he could be starting ahead of the Swede.

CM – Brown

Has appeared in all but 2 of Celtic’s Scottish Premiership fixtures so far, providing great leadership and defensive cover from deep midfield and is expected to make yet another appearance.

CM – Bitton

The Israeli continues to partner Brown in defensive midfield in recent games, has been unchallenged for the spot and the status quo is expected to be maintained.

AML – Sinclair

Has done the “unusual” of going 3 games without a goal and will hope to return to fine scoring form against Inverness in order to add to his 14-goal tally.

AMC – Callum McGregor

Came on for Armstrong in the closing minutes of their previous game but could likely be making a start tonight in what would be his 20th league game.

AMR – Mackay-Steven

With a knock restricting James Forrest to just 10 minutes of action last time out, Mackay-Steven was brought in to finish the game and might continue on the right wing for tonight’s clash.

CF – Dembele

The 20-year-old has bagged 6 goals in his last 3 league appearances and can be banked upon to continue that form having notched 15 strikes this term.
