Rodgers made a shocking departure from Park Head to join Leicester city midway through the season.

And the decision was not received well among the Hoops fans, as they vented their frustrations since.

Despite the shocking move, the Celts’ skipper Brown says that he is still in contact with Rodgers through text messages. He also hailed the Northern Irish mans’ reputation.

Brown said, (h/t The Sun)

Yes, I speak to him quite a lot.

“We just speak in general . . . the way his team has been playing, how I am getting on, how he is getting on. It’s just mates chat, really.

“That won’t change. For me, Brendan’s reputation is unbelievable.

The former Liverpool manager was part of the Celts’ dominance over the years, winning a handful of accolades. And the notable one was achieving the domestic treble twice.

Brown also revealed that Rodgers was a huge fan of the Hoops. The Scotts midfielder further wished him the very best in his new journey.

Rodgers’ impact with the Foxes could be seen straightway as he lifted the wobbling side to a formidable position. His recent big result was the 3-0 win over Arsenal.

At the same time, Brown didn’t fail to sing the praises of current interim manager Neil Lennon.

He came and started this great runoff. It’s seven in a row so far, so here’s hoping we can get another one on the tally at Aberdeen.”

Brown also cites Lennon’s style and approach as the same as those of Rodgers.
