Celtic thrashed the Dons 3-0 at Pittodrie Stadium; the Hoops right-back Lustig, alongside Simunovic and Odsoone Edouard, found the scoresheet as the Celts had their hands on the league title for the eighth in a row.
Following the win, the interim manager heaped praises on Lustig and reckons he would be one of the best in history of the Hoops. (h/t The Sun)
“Mika will know more about his role as he gets older but as a player, he is very important to what has been done here over the last eight years.
“He is right up there in terms of great players at the club.
Lennon also cites that Lustig’s relentless work time is the real reason for his recurring injury problems.
The Northern Irish manager also sang praises of Lustig’s achievements with the Bhoys.
“We got him on a free from Rosenborg. He’s played Champions League for us, got to the last 16 beating Barcelona — he’s done the lot.
“He’s won Trebles, he’s been a Swedish international for a long time and has played at World Cups and the Euros.
The 32-year-old has played 40 matches this season, bagging an eight goal-tally whilst being a full-back.
The Swedish international has played more than 200 games for the Park Head side and he is still proving his significance, despite getting caught up with age.
On the other hand, Lennon picked up his eighth win since taking the charge midway through the season.
Furthermore, he is one win away from achieving another domestic treble this season. The Hoops will compete with the Hearts in Scottish Cup finals.
