Celtic FC News: James Forrest named in the SPFL Team of the week

Celtic FC News: Celtic ace James Forrest has been named in the SPFL team of the week.

The Scots winger has been in sensational form this season, playing a huge part in the Hoops’ pursuit of the title.

Forrest’s performance against Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup semi-finals on Sunday earned him a place in the team of the week.

He scored a stunning goal, which would certainly be a contender for the goal of the season award.

The 27-year-old has bagged 14 goals and 9 assists this season across all competitions.

Following the win against The Dons, Neil Lennon praised Forrest as one of the best forwards in Britain.

Forrest also scored the decisive goal in the final third of the Old Firm derby at Park Head.

The goal helped his side to avoid a stalemate against their bitter rivals.

After spending around eight years at the Hoops’ Academy, the Scots ace finally broke into the first-team in 2010.

Ever since then, Forrest has become a staple for the Glasgow club, who has now made more than 300 appearances.

He has also earned 28 caps for his nation till now and scored five goals.
