Celtic FC News: Hoffenheim target Celtic prospect Liam Morrison

Celtic FC News: Celtic academy player Liam Morrison is reportedly on the radar of Bundesliga club Hoffenheim, reports The Sun.

The Scots teenager, who recently turned 16, currently plays for the Hoops U-18 side.

The German club has put an offer on the table for Morrison after attaining the rights to sign a professional contract.

Morrison has earned six international caps for his nation’s U-17 side, while also making 12 appearances for the U-16 side.

His traditional position is at centre-back and he is a regular for the Hoops’ youth squad.

Scotland has a long history of losing its brightest prospects to Europe’s top clubs. The best instances are two former Rangers academy graduates David Bates and Billy Gilmour, who signed for Hamburg and Chelsea respectively.

Yet, the Celts have managed to secure the wonderkid Karamoko Dembele, who is currently making huge waves with the reserves squad.

It is understood that Morrison’s agent, David Moss, former Hoops scout, is influencing teenager’s move to Germany.

The Celts will play in the SFA Youth Cup final this Thursday at Hampden Park and Morrison is expected to feature in the game.

Meanwhile, the Hoops’ first-team picked up a goalless draw against Hibernian. However, they are still on course to lift the Premiership title, as they are 9 points clear of their arch-rivals Rangers.
