The French man got sacked as the Foxes were dealt multiple defeats in recent weeks.
Weir reckons Celtic job is bigger
Now, the former Celtic captain has weighed in on the links of Rodgers to the Premier League (h/t BBC Football)
“I think the Celtic job’s a bigger job than the Leicester job at this present time.
“But I think Leicester’s an attractive job because it’s in the Premier League. The Premier League’s obviously a fantastic league and where, I think, most players and managers want to be. I don’t think there’s any doubt about that.”
Rodgers who had previously managed clubs like Swansea and Liverpool has been extremely successful at Celtic since taking over from the Reds.
The Northern Irish manager has driven the Scottish club to two trebles and set his eyes on the third this season. He also led his side to the Champions League group stages and Europa League Knockouts twice.
Weir added that it is difficult to move from Celtic and Rangers as a manager unless it is a top job.
The Hoops are now unbeaten in the Premiership from the start of 2019 and they lead the table with 63 points.
The Scottish club weren’t able to progress through the next stages of the Europa League as they were defeated by Valencia in the round of 32.
