Style of play and attitude towards the game bring them closer together, and so are often compared by critics to see who the better player is. We at SoccerSouls would like to give you our opinion too.

Radamel Falcao García

Watchout for Falcao

Known to everyone as ‘Falcao’, this Colombian striker’s name is already being sung by football fans across the globe. At just 26 years of age, he has won the praise of recognized football pundits and managers around the world. He’s best described to be the most natural striker ever produced so far. Adaptions during the game allow him to play a variety of positions in the field, and  to succeed at it is quite a feat. His pace with the ball gives him that extra edge, along with good vision and awareness which just elevates his performance to another level. Point to be noted, height has never played spoilsport as his aerial ability is just simply world class.

“[Falcao] is enjoying a stupendous run, and that motivates us a lot,” Jose told reporters in the build-up to a must-win clash for his charges; and, having been the man who introduced an 18-year-old Lionel Messi to the international arena in his time at the helm of Argentina, this is one coach who knows talent when he sees it.

His move from FC Porto to Atlético Madrid last year (2011-12 season) will remain to be one the most critically acclaimed transfers ever, for a ground breaking transfer fee of €47 million. The price tag only meant the obvious. That season saw them win the UEFA Europa League and Super Cup. He was absolutely instrumental in their achievements thus far. This season too has been a splendid run for both club and player. In his 18 appearances, he has scored 18 times, plus has provided with 5 assists.

Edinson Cavani

Uruguay have a long list of elite players since like forever. They include the likes of Schiaffino, J. Andrade, Luiz Suarez, Deigo Forlan and it just goes on. A new addition to this superstar group is Edinson Cavani! Absolutely spectacular. Top of the notch goal scorer and a 100 % fully dedicated worker. The type of player you can count on as a manager, teammate and club fan. Best described as a beast when it comes to scoring goals.

Ever since he made the move to Napoli back in 2010, he’s steadily been improving his game and gaining the limelight since then. 2 seasons with Napoli has seen him play almost 88 games so far, scoring 66 goals. Uruguay spotted this rising talent and called him up to join the senior national squad. He cemented his position on the international level after his brilliant display at the FIFA World Cup 2010 held in South Africa. His shot accuracy rate is 80% on target, a technical aspect which works in his favor.

Cavani on his club Napoli, “I have to thank my team-mates and the club, though, as I owe a lot to them. We wouldn’t be where we are now without their support and faith. I think we can beat anyone and I will continue to fight for something important right until the end.”

Napoli currently sit joint-second in Serie A, with 43 points from 21 games, out of which he has scored 18 goals thus far. He can be a natural finisher when in front of the goal, given his queer sense of calmness. He can overshadow opposing players within seconds when on the counter attack. Summing all his strengths up, he has a lot to show. But his eagerness at the age of 25 gives him away when on the defensive, decreasing his passing accuracy. Nevertheless, he’s a prolific attacker with a great future ahead of him.

Conclusion

When it comes to these two players, there is no better player. Both have perfect abilities as an attacker and very few weakness gives them a higher place  in the world of football. Young and bold are two words which defines both of them. It would be a world class striking duo if the two come together and play. We expect to see great things from both the attackers in the future. All you football clubs out there – keep a watch out on these two. They are the like star piece which completes a Christmas tree!
