Carvalhal to make 4 changes – Strongest 4-4-1-1 Swansea City XI to face Burnley

Predicted Swansea City Lineup To Face Burnley In The Premier League

Swansea City will head into their weekend clash against Burnley on an extremely positive note after demolishing Notts County 8-1 in the FA Cup encounter. Ever since Carlos Carvalhal took charge, the Swans have been quite solid, beating the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool. Last night’s victory was a true testament to how far they have come, and they should be extremely pumped up to take on a seemingly struggling Burnley side.

Currently gracing the 17th spot, Swansea seem to have sparked themselves into an upward trajectory of form and they will be looking to continue that on Saturday as well.

Team News

Carvalhal will have to do without the likes of Wilfried Bony, Leroy Fer, Andre Ayew and Renato Sanches. Fer and Bony are ruled out for the rest of the season but Ayew could return sometime soon.

Probable Swansea XI

Formation: 4-4-1-1

Manager: Carlos Carvalhal

Lukas Fabianski (GK)

After getting some rest in their most recent match, Fabianski is likely to take up his usual role in goal and shield it from an unpredictable Burnley attack.

Kyle Naughton (RB)

Naughton often provides a nice burst of energy on the right-hand side and he is quite effective at surging ahead to support the attack as well.

Mike van der Hoorn (CB)

Adept at taking on aerial challenges, van der Hoorn will once again be useful for Swansea at the back with his defensive solidity, thus making it likely for Carvalhal to hand him a start.

Alfie Mawson

Alfie Mawson (CB)

Mawson plays well alongside van der Hoorn and the duo will have to be at its lethal best to ensure Swansea maintain a tight backline.

Martin Olsson (LB)

The defence line is likely to be completed, with Olsson taking charge of the left-back area after sitting out against Notts County.

Sam Clucas (LM)

Clucas has been one of Swansea’s better and more consistent players and with the game against Burnley seeming like a do-or-die situation in their quest for points, Carvalhal could hand him a start.

Tom Carroll (CM)

After an impressive performance against Notts County, Carroll might earn a starting spot against Burnley as well. He is creative and there is a sense of maturity in his displays. He will be crucial in Swansea establishing control in the middle of the park.

Ki Sung-Yueng (CM)

With the club hit by a bout of injuries, Sung-Yueng could find himself in the central midfield position after putting in some meaty performances in earlier matches.

Sam Clucas

Luciano Narsingh (RM)

Narsingh was extremely effective against Notts County and was perhaps one of Swansea’s best players on the field. After providing 3 assists in his last match, his creativity will undoubtedly be important for Swansea in this game as well.

Nathan Dyer (SS)

Dyer displayed excellent pace and skill to score two goals in his previous game and the player could be in the reckoning to start on Saturday as well – especially with the ongoing injury crisis.

Tammy Abraham (ST)

With Wilfried Bony and Andre Ayew out, Abraham should lead the line once again. He put in a solid and reassuring display against Notts County and Carvalhal will be expecting him to play the same way against the Clarets as well.
