Carles Puyol back in training

Puyol reported to training for the first time since his knee injury in May which kept him out of action towards the end of La Liga season with Barcelona and European championship with Spain.

“The Barcelona captain trained with the rest of the squad in the group’s penultimate session before they fly out to Germany on Tuesday for their first pre-season friendly against Hamburg,”

“Puyol will undergo further medical tests next Monday, July 30th, to confirm his fitness to return to full training – the same day that the team’s Spanish internationals resume training,” the statement from their official website. This would be an encouragement for Barcelona coach Tito Vilanova ahead of their new season which starts in August 19th against Real Socieadad.
