Cardiff City opinion: Should the Bluebirds sign Willian Jose?

According to a report from Calciomercato, Cardiff City are interested in signing Real Sociedad’s Willian Jose in the summer. The Brazilian has been in good form for the La Liga outfit this season and has found himself on Neil Warnock’s wish list.

Cardiff City’s hope for survival in the Premier League rests on fellow strugglers Brighton’s shoulders. Both teams are separated by just 3 points but Brighton’s game in hand will play a huge part in what happens at the end of the season.

Cardiff have had a really unfortunate season so far with a lot of things going against them. Their hopes of survival endured a massive blow in January when Emiliano Sala’s signing collapsed in the most tragic way possible.

Neil Warnock’s side have shown real heart and desire to stay up in the Premier League in recent games but that might not be enough to stay in the English top-flight.

However, the Bluebirds will have to address the areas, where they need reinforcements in, and Willian Jose will be a wonderful addition. The 27-year-old Brazilian has scored 10 goals and has assisted 3 more in 23 appearances for the Spanish side so far this season.

His performances over the last two seasons have been hugely impressive and he is the sort of player that Cardiff need at the moment.

Tall, strong and fairly quick with an exceptional awareness of who is around him, Willian Jose is a complete striker, capable of scoring and setting up goals for his side.

The Brazilian is into double figures in terms of goals scored for the third season in a row, which makes him massively reliable for a team.

Standing at close to 6ft 3in, Jose is a huge aerial threat in the box and his mere presence in and around the six-yard box makes him incredibly dangerous. Jose’s intelligence during set-pieces is admirable, making intelligent movements in the box to confuse defenders.

His composure in front of goal is that of a top striker and his unselfishness should endear him to the Cardiff faithful. At 27 years old, Jose is at his peak and a move in the summer would be ideal for Cardiff.

Conclusion

Willian Jose would be a dream signing for Cardiff City and the Brazilian will guarantee goals for the Bluebirds next season. However, with Jose tied down to a contract until 2024, Cardiff will need a lot of convincing to do but he will be a fine addition if they manage to pull off the deal.
