Predicted Leicester City line-up to face Manchester City in the League Cup

Leicester City were beaten by Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park this weekend as the Foxes continued their mixed run of fortunes. Claude Puel’s side are on a 3-game winless run at the moment, with 2 of those ending in losses.

But the manager now turns his attention to the League Cup clash against Manchester City in mid-week. The Cityzens returned to winning ways against Everton during the weekend and are back in their mojo. As the champions visit the King Power Stadium, Claude Puel will definitely be wary of a number of potent threats.

Team News

Ben Chilwell is surely out for this game as well. Matty James and Daniel Amartey are out for the long term. Expect Claude Puel to make changes.

Probable Leicester City XI

Manager: Claude Puel

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Kasper Schmeichel (GK)

The Dane is their best option in goal and will surely keep his place for this game as well.

Jonny Evans

Ricardo Pereira (RB)

Pereira should continue down the right flank against the champions. His raids down the wing should cause them a few problems.

Jonny Evans (CB)

Evans could come into the side for Wes Morgan. He has done well whenever called upon.

Harry Maguire (CB)

Maguire should partner Evans at the back. His return from injury has been very timely for the Foxes.

Christian Fuchs (LB)

With Chilwell still out injured, Fuchs should continue down the left side of the defence.

Harry Maguire

Vicente Iborra (RCM)

Iborra could come into the side in the place of Nampalys Mendy in this game. He would be tasked with distributing the ball swiftly in the middle of the park.

Wilfred Ndidi (LCM)

Ndidi has to be at his defensive best as he comes up against the defending Premier League champions.

Rachid Ghezzal (RAM)

Ghezzal should start this game after coming on in the last one as a substitute. He will run down the right flank.

James Maddison (CAM)

Maddison’s creativity is ever so vital for the Foxes. He should continue in the No.10 role.

Demarai Gray (LAM)

Gray’s pace and ability on the ball should cause all sorts of problems for the Cityzens.
