Byram And Feghouli To Start – Strongest 4-1-4-1 West Ham Line-up To Face Sunderland

West Ham United

Predicted West Ham United Lineup To Face Sunderland

West Ham United managed to arrest their slump in recent times with a 1-0 victory over Swansea City in the previous round. Slaven Bilic will be happy that his injury stuck team finally took all three points from a league game. They have slipped to the 14th place during their bad run but they are in no danger of relegation.

They would want to finish in the top half come the end of the season and will want to finish this campaign on a high. They have a great chance to climb up the points table when they travel to the Stadium of Light to face a struggling Sunderland side that seems destined to get relegated this season. David Moyes’ side are healing from a loss to Manchester United in the previous game and are sure to find it hard against the Hammers this weekend.

Team News:

The Hammers will miss Mark Noble for this tie through suspension. Pedro Obiang, Angelo Ogbonna, Winston Reid, Gokhan Tore and Aaron Cresswell are all ruled out for this game. Sam Byram and Michail Antonio also have bruises but may yet play a role this weekend.

Expected Starting XI:

Manager: Slaven Bilic

Formation: 4-1-4-1

GK – Darren Randolph

Bilic has trusted Randolph in front of goal this season in the first team and he should keep his place in the side for this game.

RB – Sam Byram

The youngster picked up a niggle in the game against Swansea but is expected to fit be for this tie and should start at right-back.

CB – Jose Fonte

The former Southampton man will hope to have a comfortable night against a struggling Sunderland attack this weekend.

CB – James Collins

With a number of injuries at the centre-back position for West Ham, Collins is expected to continue to partner Fonte at the back for West Ham.

LB – Arthur Masuaku

With Cresswell still out, Masuaku, who has done a decent job recently, should start this game for West Ham at left-back.

CDM – Chiekhou Kouyate

English star Mark Noble is suspended for a couple of games and Bilic should use Kouyate as their only midfielder in front of the defence.

CM – Manuel Lanzini

With Noble absent, Lanzini, who has been decent in an attacking role, will have to drop back slightly to help West Ham out in the midfield.

CM – Robert Snodgrass

Another player who will have to drop into the midfield is Robert Snodgrass who has also been in excellent form. He could still be effective and can hurt Sunderland in this game.

RW – Sofiane Feghouli

The new buy for West Ham, Feghouli is slowly finding some form and will be the danger man for West Ham on the wing.

LW – Andre Ayew

The former Swansea man has not been productive since coming back from injury but this is a great chance for him to get himself on the scoresheet.

ST – Andy Carroll

Leading the attacking line for West Ham in this game should be Andy Carroll, who will fancy his chances against a leaky Sunderland defence this weekend.

This is how they would line up:
