Bundesliga Highlights : Dortmund And Bayern Pick Up Easy Wins

Bayern Munich retained their pole position in the Bundesliga table by two points with a 3-1 victory against Mainz 05 on Saturday night. Early goals from Mario Mandzukic and Bastian Schweinsteiger just after 13 minutes made sure that the hosts were on the driving seat from the beginning as Bayern ended the first half without losing their 2 goal advantage. But the second half did not go according to plans and Bayernd looked fragile after the gave  away a penalty around the hour mark, which was converted by Adam Szalai. This set up a tricky finish to the game as Mainz started to pile up the pressure.

Bayern striker Toni Kroos  rescued them with a late goal amd made sure the three points stay with the league leaders.

While champions Dortmund had no such nerves as they ease past Leverkusen with a 3-0 victory. Dortmund are on a role at home and they extend their unbeaten run at home for over a year now. And their league run without a defeat is also 31 games, closing in on the all-time record of 36 matches set by Hamburg SV.

Matt Hummels opened the scoring for the Champions with a perfectly time header around the half-hour mark and J. Blaszczykowski  added another just after 10 minutes. Lewandowski rounded off an excellent night with another headed goal in the 78th minute.
