Bristol City opinion: Should the Robins make a move for Eddie Nketiah?
According to the Bristol Post, Bristol City are really interested in making a move for Arsenal starlet Eddie Nketiah.
The young forward has shined since breaking out last season, making quite an impact for the North London side. The 19-year-old made an impact in the Europa League and even in the EFL Cup.
It’s in the EFL Cup that the young forward really made a sensational impact where Nketiah went on to score two goals in the space of ten minutes. The first of his brace happened to be his first touch, making that an instant impact.
Released by Premier League side Chelsea and immediately scooped up by Arsenal, Eddie Nketiah is a rocket with a sensational ability in the final third.
His speciality is scoring goals and the 19-year-old has proven to be a great scorer of goals at a youth level. He’s done that time after time, scoring goals as if it means absolutely nothing.
Combine that with his movement, spatial awareness and rather incredible footballing intelligence, he would be perfect for Bristol City.
The club needs new additions, especially after the struggles of everyone else barring Famara Diedhiou. He finished with 13 goals in the Championship alone, which is nearly 9 goals more than what Matty Taylor managed.
It’s why the club needs a new centre-forward, and a move for the young Eddie Nketiah does make sense. The 19-year-old needs game time to move further ahead in his career and more than anything, that is what he lacked this season.
While Unai Emery did let him run free, the young forward failed to get a permanent starting berth with two world-class strikers ahead of him. But given his potential and his age, Nketiah needs regular game time to grow.
That’s what would work for Bristol City as it allows them time to find a permanent solution. Moreover, a permanent move may not be out of the picture if the 19-year-old does struggle to find himself at Arsenal.
