Crystal Palace fought hard to pick up a 0-0 draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford. Roy Hodgson’s side were resilient at the back and soaked in all the pressure from the Red Devils. The Eagles will also rue their missed opportunities as both Patrick Van Aanholt and Andros Townsend spurned good opportunities.
Jose Mourinho’s side definitely need to do more if they are to make a challenge for the top four but the Eagles will be glad to pick up a point at Old Trafford, a place they rarely come away with anything.
Here we take a look at how the Palace stars fared in their draw against Manchester United.
He was once again solid between the sticks. Made a superb save to deny Jesse Lingard from close range. He also kept out Lukaku’s header in the second half.
He dealt well with United’s threat down the left flank. Did well after coming back from a shoulder injury.
It was another dominant performance from the centre-back. He really has been a vital cog in this Palace side. He made a number of vital interceptions and challenges.
He defended well for the most parts but did needlessly bring down Jesse Lingard, earning himself a yellow card in the process.
Scuppered a glorious chance in the first half. Did decently in the defence.
He gave the ball away cheaply on a few occasions but still put in a decent shift on the night.
He was calm and composed in his display. Played a vital role in maintaining stability in the middle of the park.
The Scottish midfielder covered a lot of ground as he seamlessly traveled back and forth on the night.
He linked up well going forward and had some nice interplay. He also tracked back when required.
Townsend worked hard up front but should have done better with his chance in the second half.
Constantly troubled the Manchester United defenders with his pace and ability on the ball.
Didn’t see much of the ball but was brought on to see out the game.
Didn’t have time to influence the game.
