Brilliant Williams, Fantastic Cooper – The best and the worst rated Millwall players vs Nottingham Forest

Millwall 2-0 Nottingham Forest: Williams And Gregory Down Forest

Millwall took themselves to within one point of the playoffs with a convincing victory against Nottingham Forest. The game was pretty much over before half-time after Millwall had scored their second goal.

Nottingham Forest had 19 shots but only 3 of them were on target, thanks to some solid defending from the Millwall back four and some good defensive work from George Saville and Shaun Williams in the midfield.

Overall, it was a quality team performance.

Millwall Player Ratings

Jordan Archer – 7/10

A quiet day at the office for the goalkeeper. Will be happy to have kept a clean sheet but wasn’t really challenged by the three shots on target that Forest had.

Mahlon Romeo – 6/10

Didn’t have a stand-out game and his passing was quite inconsistent. However, he will be happy with the clean sheet.

Shaun Hutchinson – 7/10

The Millwall centre-half had a solid game. Nothing too extraordinary but marshalled the defence well and left with a clean sheet to show for it.

Jake Cooper – 8/10

Dominated aerially to nullify the threat of Vellios in the Forest attack. He won 4 of his aerial duels. Managed to be a goal threat as well, having two shots at the Forest goal.

James Meredith – 8/10

The Millwall left-back had a very good game, winning 3 of his tackles and successfully attacking down left-wing as well.

Jed Wallace – 6/10

The right-winger did not have the best game of his career, with no successful dribbles down the right-wing. He was replaced by Onyedinma in the 88th minute but it wouldn’t have been odd had he been replaced sooner.

George Saville – 7/10

Controlled the midfield well, had a high pass success rate while also tackling and dispossessing the opposition. Good defensive display.

Shaun Williams – 9/10

The 31-year-old took his goal well and also marshalled the midfield well, winning 4 of his aerial duels and making 2 successful tackles.

Ben Marshall – 8/10

Was a solid goal threat for Millwall, having three shots on goal and also providing an assist. All-in-all, a good performance from the winger before he was subbed off.

Steve Morison – 8/10

A good performance from the striker, getting a good assist and winning a lot of aerial battles.

Lee Gregory – 7.5/10

Scored a good goal from very close range to put Millwall two goals ahead. Other than that, he looked a creative threat with two successful dribbles during the game.
