Brilliant Sinclair, Poor Boyata – The best and the worst rated Celtic players vs Dundee

Share

Full Time: Celtic 0-0 Dundee

Scottish Premiership leaders Celtic were held to a lacklustre 0-0 draw against Dundee. The Hoops put in an uninspired performance and it was very unlike Brendan Rodgers’ men. Barring a few moments, the club did not look threatening enough and the visitors were left unscathed by the end of the game.

Celtic looked a lot stronger after the break but their efforts went in vain. Although they pushed for a late goal, the club failed to connect the dots.

Celtic Player Ratings

Craig Gordon – 7/10

Gordon was a spectator for most of the game and barring one important save, he did not have much to do.

Mikael Lustig – 5/10

Even though Lustig was in good positions at times, he proved to be quite wasteful. Besides that, he fulfilled his basic defensive duties.

Dedryck Boyata – 4.5/10

Erratic and nervy as always, it was a surprise that he was in the lineup after his poor performance against Ross County.

Jack Hendry – 6/10

Came in place of Kristoffer Ajer and he was relatively untroubled in the defence. He also had a late chance to score a goal but throughout the game, Hendry could not deal with long balls.

Callum McGregor – 6/10

Played a makeshift left-back role and McGregor put in a hard-working shift. This role clearly does not suit him but he provided adequate support to Sinclair.

Scott Brown – 7.5/10

Was booked in the first-half but he controlled possession and was a reliable presence in the midfield area.

Stuart Armstrong – 7/10

Provided good delivery from set-pieces and worked well with his teammates in the midfield. Unfortunately, though, nothing came out of it.

Tom Rogic – 7/10

Rogic lacked creativity and power in the final third initially but as time wore on, he got more comfortable on the field and ultimately put in a decent display.

James Forrest – 6/10

Forrest ran tirelessly and tried to make things happen by linking up well with Rogic in the second half but they failed to do so.

Scott Sinclair – 8/10

Arguably, Sinclair was the best Hoops player on the field. He dominated the left-wing completely and was a nightmare for the opponent’s defenders. He did have a good chance to score but nothing came of it.

Moussa Dembele – 6/10

It was a decent display from the youngster who worked well with Forrest in the final third.

Subs:

Leigh Griffiths – 6.5/10

Brought in a much-needed dash of energy to the field.

Odsonne Edouard – 5/10

Edouard tried to make things happen but he was outmuscled by the opponents on a few occasions.
