Rangers Player Ratings vs Hearts – Here’s how the Gers fared

Rangers continued their winning run in the league when they came from behind to defeat Hearts 2-1 away from home at the Tynecastle Stadium in a tight game. Gareth McAuley scored the own goal in the 27th minute to give the home team a fortunate lead.

But his centre-back partner Connor Goldson scored at the other end in the 35th-minute to equalise the proceedings. Alfredo Morelos scored four minutes from half-time to give Steven Gerrard’s team a precious lead and as it turned out, it was a match-winning lead.

This result puts the Gers on top of the table, a point ahead of Celtic who have a game in hand.

Rangers Player Ratings

Allan McGregor (8)

Produced a stunning stop to deny the opposition and made some good saves to back that herculean effort.

James Tavernier (7)

A danger going forward on the right, however, he was a tad susceptible defensively.

Gareth McAuley (7)

Scored an unfortunate own goal, but he defended well in general. His passing was a hit and miss.

Connor Goldson

Connor Goldson (7)

Started a bit circumspectly, but he grew into the game and partnered McAuley well. Scored the messy goal to equalise things.

Andy Halliday (6)

Had a few erroneous moments at the back but he is a threat moving forward for the Gers. It sometimes shows that he is not a natural left-back.

Lassana Coulibaly (5)

His passing and positioning in the midfield were not good at all times. Lost a few duels as well in the central areas of the pitch.

Scott Arfield (5)

Played well until the moment when had a rush of blood and got himself sent off. A bad decision and one which he would regret.

Ovie Ejaria

Ovie Ejaria (5)

A quiet game from Ejaria. The game passed by him more often than not, which is not a good sign for any player.

Eros Grezda (7)

Was a threat down the left-hand side throughout the game. Tracked back well to help the defence and looks a player reborn.

Daniel Candeias (7)

Other than some strayed decision-making, he was a threat down the right-hand side. A better display than the one against Villarreal.

Alfredo Morelos (7.5)

Worked hard all game long and scored the winning goal to seal three points for the Gers.

Alfredo Morelos

Substitutes

Ryan Jack (On after 64 mins) (4)

Didn’t really make much of a difference coming on as a sub.

Ross McCrorie (On after 81 mins) (6)

Helped the team close the game out.

Kyle Lafferty (On after 86 mins) (N/A)

Had no time to make an impact.
