Brilliant Mesut Ozil, Fantastic Ramsey – The Best And The Worst Rated Arsenal Players From The 5-0 Win vs Huddersfield

Full Time: Arsenal 5-0 Huddersfield Town

We all got to witness a glimpse of Arsenal’s lethal side last night as the Gunners beat Huddersfield Town 5-0 in a Premier League clash at the Emirates stadium. Interestingly, Arsene Wenger fielded a full-strength squad despite their upcoming match against Manchester United. Alexandre Lacazette was his usual fiery self as he opened the scoring within the first 5 minutes itself. From then on, Arsenal did not dominate completely and looked rather poor until half-time.

However, from the 67th minute onwards, Arsenal were back in the game and amped up the pressure on the visitors as Mesut Ozil provided 2 assists and a goal in about 4 minutes. That completely changed the course of the game and the Gunners sealed 3 points for themselves. Let’s take a look at how each Arsenal player fared against Huddersfield.

Arsenal Player Ratings

Petr Cech – 7/10

Cech was not tested much throughout the game, except one occasion where he bailed Arsenal out with a crucial save. Whenever the ball came his way, he stopped it and maintained a clean sheet in an important game.

Laurent Koscielny – 7.5/10

He maintained control and was solid for good chunks of the game. Koscielny was unusually weak in the air last night but besides that, he did well.

Shkodran Mustafi – 8/10

Mustafi continued his recent run of good form and kept trouble at bay against Huddersfield. He was a bit clumsy initially but he reigned himself in and delivered a strong performance.

Nacho Monreal – 8.5/10

Monreal and Steve Mounie were engaged in a one-on-one battle for most parts of the game and the reliable Arsenal defender managed to restrict him from causing any problems.

Hector Bellerin – 6/10

Bellerin was quite decent last night but it was nothing extraordinary, even though he did have some chances to do a lot better.

Sead Kolasinac – 7/10

Kolasinac was quite surprisingly poor in the first half. He got himself into the right positions but failed to do much. However, he seemed a lot like his usual self after the break and he even set up Olivier Giroud’s second goal.

Granit Xhaka – 7/10

Xhaka linked well with Aaron Ramsey to keep things going and also played an important role in Lacazette’s goal. Xhaka was terribly sloppy until Arsenal scored their 2nd goal and he needs to improve quickly.

Aaron Ramsey – 8.5/10

Ramsey has truly made a remarkable transition and he went on to provide 2 assists, one for Lacazette and one for Ozil. It was a remarkable performance overall from the Welshman.

Mesut Ozil – 10/10

Ozil was not expected to play due to an illness but much to Huddersfield’s dismay, the prolific German attacker was at his best last night. He registered 2 assists and a goal – all in the span of 4 minutes.

Alexis Sanchez – 7/10

If Ozil flourished, Sanchez was nowhere to be seen. He put in an average performance where he did his duty but that did not yield any results.

Alexandre Lacazette – 7.5/10

His injury will come as a major blow for the Gunners, especially after his stunning display when it came to scoring last night.

Subs:

Olivier Giroud – 8/10

Giroud quickly scored 2 goals after coming on and kept the pace of the game going.

Danny Welbeck – N/A

The game was already almost over by the time he came on and there was little scope for him to make an impact.

Jack Wilshere – N/A

He made a couple of nice touches but Wenger introduced him too late.
