Brilliant McCrorie – The Best And The Worst Rated Rangers Players From The 2-1 Win vs Ross County

Full Time: Rangers 2-1 Ross County

Rangers came back from behind to defeat Ross County 2-1 in the Scottish Premiership, at the Ibrox Stadium, on Saturday.

The home side found themselves chasing the game just ten minutes after kick-off as striker Craig Curran handed the Staggies an early lead. The Gers were back in the game just before the hour-mark, with substitute Alfredo Morelos finding the back of the net. And with seven minutes of normal time left to play, defender Danny Wilson scored the all-important second goal for Rangers that sealed the victory for Graeme Murty’s side.

With the win, the second-placed Gers closed down the gap to league leaders Celtic to just four points. However, the Hoops still have two games in hand. Here we rate and slate the performances of Rangers’ stars on the day.

Rangers Player Ratings

Wes Foderingham – 6/10

Had very little to do between the sticks, apart from picking up the ball out of the net after Curran’s strike. Quiet outing.

James Tavernier – 7/10

Raided down the right flank well and linked up nicely with Daniel Candeias. But his end product did not always meet the required level.

Bruno Alves – 6/10

Returning to the side after missing the clash against Aberdeen, the Portuguese had a fairly comfortable day in the office.

Danny Wilson – 7/10

Should have done better in the buildup to the Staggies’ goal. Scored his second goal in as many games to clinch the three points for his team.

Declan John – 5/10

Did not have the best of the games as the visitors succeeded in getting behind him on the left-hand side regularly. Had a couple of decent forward forays, but needs to improve his defensive game.

Ross McCrorie – 7.5/10

Another extremely impressive performance from the teenager in the midfield. Kept winning the ball regularly and helped the Gers control things.

Jason Holt – 7/10

Another fully committed display from the midfielder, as he ran himself to the ground, hustling and bustling the Ross County midfielders.

Daniel Candeias – 6/10

Worked really hard on the right-hand side and managed to put some decent crosses into the box, one of which led to Morelos’ equaliser.

Carlos Pena – 3/10

Struggled to have any sort of impact on the game and it wasn’t much of a surprise to see him taken off at the break.

Josh Windass – 6/10

Wasn’t as involved going forward as one would have expected from him but put in a shift and toiled hard on the left flank.

Kenny Miller – 6.5/10

Quiet start, but improved with time and was the instigator of the counter-attack leading to the Gers’ first goal. Could have had one himself late in the game.

Substitutes

Alfredo Morelos – 7/10

Replaced Pena at half-time and added a sense of purpose and urgency to the attack. Ended his barren spell by scoring the equaliser but seemed to fade afterwards.

Jamie Barjonas – 6/10

On for the injured McCrorie in the 73rd minute. Showed some nice touches and passes.

Eduardo Herrera – N/A

Injury time substitution for Miller.
