Brilliant James Forrest – The Best And The Worst Rated Celtic Players From The 2-0 Win vs Dundee FC

Final Score: Dundee FC 0-2 Celtic

Celtic stretched their lead at the top of Scottish Premiership to 11 points, when they defeated Dundee FC 2-0 at the Dens Park, on Tuesday.

Winger James Forrest opened the scoring for the reigning Scottish champions, after being teed up by Kieran Tierney within ten minutes. Striker Leigh Griffiths then made it 2-0 in favour of Brendan Rodgers’ side just minutes before half-time, slotting home an Olivier Ntcham pass.

The win sees Celtic placed perfectly ahead of their big game against rivals Rangers in their final game of the calendar year, this coming weekend. Let’s take a look at how the Hoops’ stars fared on the day.

Celtic Player Ratings

Craig Gordon – 6/10

Had very little do between the sticks. One of the most comfortable nights that the veteran goalkeeper will have seen in goal.

Mikael Lustig – 6.5/10

Created a great chance for Callum McGregor early in the game and was always available to support his teammates when going forward.

Dedryck Boyata – 6.5/10

A much more assured display from the former Manchester City man. Was hardly tested, but was alert when needed to be and his passing too was decent.

Kristoffer Ajer – 7/10

The youngster seems to be growing in confidence with every passing game. Comfortable when on the ball, carried it out of the defence with great ease.

Kieran Tierney – 7/10

Another solid display from the young left-back. Got forward consistently and laid on the assist for James Forrest’s opener.

Scott Brown – 7/10

More of the same from the captain, helping his team control the game in the middle of the park and not allowing the home team to get a footing.

Olivier Ntcham – 7.5/10

Another extremely impressive performance from the summer signing. Helped Celtic dominate the game in the midfield alongside Brown and played a great pass to set up Griffiths.

James Forrest – 8/10

Gave the lead to the Bhoys with a well-taken finish. Was a nuisance to the Dundee defence with his movement and sharpness. Almost had a second, after a brilliant jinking run, but hit his shot wide.

Callum McGregor – 6/10

Kept things ticking without standing out a great deal. Should have opened the scoring, but his shot clipped the post.

Jonny Hayes – 5/10

Started off brightly, but an ankle injury midway through the first-half brought his game to a premature end.

Leigh Griffiths – 7/10

Played a hand in the build-up to the opening goal and scored his first goal in over a month with a neat finish, to double his side’s advantage.

Substitutes

Michael Johnston – 6.5/10

Showed great confidence each time he was on the ball. Missed a great chance to score his first goal for the club.

Stuart Armstrong – N/A

On for Ntcham for the final twenty minutes.

Moussa Dembele – N/A

Came on with ten minutes left to play.
