Brilliant Hazard – The Best And The Worst Rated Chelsea Players From The Drab 0-0 Draw vs Everton

Final Score: Everton 0-0 Chelsea

Chelsea were held to an uneventful goal-less draw against Everton at Goodison Park. The Toffees continued their unbeaten run under Sam Allardyce and they will be happy at having stolen a point against the defending champions. The Blues clearly missed Alvaro Morata and it was evident as their attack lacked edge.

Although Tiemoue Bakayoko and Willian got close to scoring, their efforts were denied quite admirably by Phil Jagielka. However, credit must be given where its due and Chelsea did seem like the dominant side. Let’s take a look at how each player fared against Everton.

Chelsea Player Ratings

Thibaut Courtois – 6/10

Courtois was hardly tested throughout the match and hence did not have room to make much of an impact.

Cesar Azpilicueta – 7/10

He put in a fine block to keep Glyfi Sigurdsson at bay and was solid throughout. He did not have much to do though, considering Everton barely posed too much trouble.

Andreas Christensen – 6.5/10

Christensen almost squandered a chance when Dominic Calvert-Lewin snatched the ball away from him. Luckily for him though, no damage was caused and he was reliable enough thereafter.

Antonio Rudiger – 6/10

Much like his other teammates at the back, Rudiger did not have much to do. However, he put in a couple of impressive long-range passes in the first-half.

Victor Moses – 7/10

Moses kept trying to make things happen but Chelsea could not connect the dots. All in all, the player put up a sturdy display.

N’Golo Kante – 7.5/10

Kante was once more an influential figure for the Blues in the middle but his effort to score in the 14th minute was highly forgettable.

Tiemoue Bakayoko – 6.5/10

The midfielder is slowly starting to live up to his billing. His passing was a bit off at times and he still has scope for improvement. But he was quite effective at breaking Everton’s play in the middle.

Marcos Alonso – 7.5/10

Alonso was a constant burst of energy on the left-hand side and built strong links with Pedro. He even made an effort to score later on but it was blocked by Williams.

Pedro – 7/10

His movement and pace caused a lot of trouble for Everton and he should have scored a goal. However, Pickford produced some brilliant saves to deny him.

Willian – 5/10

Had a splendid chance to gift Chelsea a lead early on but it was blocked by Jagielka. The Toffees defended quite well, which made things tough for him in the final third.

Eden Hazard – 7.5/10

Hazard was brilliant once more but a much-needed goal eluded him even though he tried quite a lot throughout the game.

Subs:

Cesc Fabregas – 5/10

He was brought on to help the Blues score a goal but he could not do anything on that front.

Michy Batshuayi – 5/10

Batshuayi was also brought in to provide a lethal edge but the Belgian did not have any chance.

Davide Zappacosta – N/A

The player came on too late to make an impact.
