Brilliant Hazard – The Best And The Worst Rated Chelsea Players vs West Bromwich Albion

Full Time: West Brom 0-1 Chelsea

Antonio Conte helped his Chelsea side to their sixth Premier League title this weekend as they managed to take all three points from a trip to the Hawthorns with a 1-0 win against West Bromwich Albion. They are now ten points away from Spurs in the second place and are well out of reach of their local rivals. The Blues looked like they would be frustrated yet against by a Tony Pulis side who wanted nothing more than a point.

They struggled to break the deadlock on the night but with less than 10 minutes to go, substitute Michy Batshuayi came up with a goal that sealed three points and the trophy. It was a rather sedate night for the neutrals but Chelsea got the job done. Here are the player ratings for the Blues for this tie:

Chelsea Player Ratings

Thibaut Courtois – 6/10

Made one telling save all night as he was hardly tested by the likes of Solomon Rondon on a comfortable night.

Cesar Azpilicueta – 7/10

Kept up well with the likes of James McClean as he put in a shift at the back, making some important last ditch tackles to keep Chelsea in the hunt.

David Luiz – 5/10

Beaten on more than one occasions by direct runners and almost cost his side the game. But was generally solid when sitting back.

Gary Cahill – 5/10

Was not tested constantly enough but looked under pressure every time West Brom put an attack to together.

Victor Moses – 6/10

Stuck to his task well as he was a constant outlet on the wing, helping his side create chance after chance before they finally broke through.

Cesc Fabregas – 6/10

Did his best to break the West Brom defence and almost scored a couple of long rangers on a frustrating night.

Nemanja Matic – 6/10

Had little tracking back to do as the Baggies hardly put attacks together. Stuck to his task of winning the ball back quickly throughout the game.

Marcos Alonso – 7/10

Made a number of darting runs from the flank, to try and get behind the West Brom defence but was just not good enough with his final delivery.

Pedro – 6/10

Did little to help Chelsea open the West Brom defence constantly. However, came close to scoring on a couple of occasions.

Eden Hazard – 8/10

The best player on the pitch for Chelsea, Hazard was a constant nuisance for the Baggies as he won a number of fouls and helped his side keep up the pressure on the night.

Diego Costa – 6/10

A frustrating night for the Spaniard who failed to get enough chances at goal to find the back of the net.

SUBS:

Michy Batshuayi – 8/10

The saviour on the night, Batshuayi was there at the right place at the right time to nod home from close range as he scored the title winning goal in his first season in England.

Willian – 7/10

Came in and added the urgency Chelsea looked to miss throughout the game. Helped create a couple of chances and played his role in the winner.

Kurt Zouma – NA

Came in to see off the game late on the night.
