Brilliant Foderingham – The Best And The Worst Rated Rangers Players From The 2-1 Win vs Hibernian

Full Time: Hibernian 1-2 Rangers

Rangers came back from being a goal down to beat Hibernian FC 2-1, away at the Easter Road on Wednesday night to win their fourth consecutive game in the Scottish Premiership.

Lewis Stevenson had gave the home side an early lead when he hit home from a Simon Murray pass in the 9th minute. But the Sky Blues reinstated the parity with three minutes left in the first-half through Josh Windass, before striker Alfredo Morelos put the Gers ahead, smashing home a powerful strike past the Hibs goalkeeper in the stoppage time of the first period.

The home team had a number of chances to come back and were unlucky to have been denied a clear penalty claim late in the game. But, Rangers held on for the win to keep pace with arch-rivals Celtic. Graeme Murty’s side are second in the table now, 5 points behind the Hoops, although the Gers have played a game more than the Hoops.

And here’s how the Rangers players fared on Wednesday.

Rangers Player Ratings

Wes Foderingham – 8/10

Made a number of crucial stops throughout the game to keep his team in the contest, with his save to deny Branden Barker standing out the most.

James Tavernier – 5/10

Sent in a brilliant cross for Morelos in the first period, but the Colombian missed. Struggled to hold his own defensively though and was a weak link all game.

Bruno Alves – 6/10

Started off very slowly as the Hibs got in behind him on a constant basis. But he improved after the break and dominated the aerial duels.

Danny Wilson – 7/10

Not the best of the nights by any means but fared much better than the rest of his defensive partners at the back, dealing with whatever came his way.

Declan John – 6/10

Was given a hard time down the left-hand side by the dangerous Martin Boyle, which meant he couldn’t have much of an impact going forward.

Ross McCrorie – 7/10

The youngster continues to impress, with another matured display in the middle of the park. Strong in challenges and composed when in possession.

Jason Holt – 7.5/10

His energy in the middle of the park was key as the Gers stood against attacks. Played important roles in the build-up to both the goals his side scored.

Jamie Barjonas – 6/10

The 18-year old midfielder was at times overpowered by his Hibs counterparts but stuck to his task and never stopped fighting.

Kenny Miller – N/A

Taken off within 15 minutes of kick-off owing to a hamstring injury.

Josh Windass – 6.5/10

Scored the all-important equaliser towards the end of the first period. Did not contribute much otherwise.

Alfredo Morelos – 7/10

Endured a torrid start as he missed a great chance and constantly lost possession. But he made the decisive impact by scoring the second goal for his side, which eventually proved to be the winner.

Substitutes

Daniel Candeias – 5/10

Replaced the injured Kenny Miller. Wasteful in possession way too often.

David Bates – 5/10

On for Barjonas in the 73rd minute. Lucky not to have conceded a penalty after a clear hand ball in the box.

Eduardo Herrera – N/A

On for Morelos with just six minutes left to play.
