Bristol City 3-1 Birmingham City: Robins Gram A Massive Win To Go Within Touching Distance Of Playoff Spots

A win for Bristol City kept them in touching distance of the playoffs and they are now only three points off 6th placed Millwall with four games to go.

It looked a little shaky at 2-1 but Matty Taylor popped up from the subs bench to make it three and put the final nail in Birmingham’s coffin. Birmingham remain in peril, just two points above the drop zone. It will be a nervy end to the season for them.

Frank Fielding – 8/10

The 30-year-old goalkeeper made a massive 6 saves to keep his side ahead in the game. Some great work from the Robins’ last line of defence.

Joe Bryan – 8/10

The right-back had a good game for his side, looking solid defensively but also marauding forward down the right and dribbling successfully straight down towards the Birmingham defence.

Aden Flint – 7/10

The 28-year-old centre back had a decent game. He won a lot of his aerial duels and pushed back the Birmingham attack.

Had a good game, much like his partner. He dominated in the air and won a lot of tackles.

Lloyd Kelly – 7/10

Kelly had a good game at left-back, winning all of his aerial duels and tackling hard.

Bobby Reid – 8.5/10

The left-winger had a stand-out game for Bristol City this evening, providing a goal and an assist for his team. Apart from that, he didn’t really do too much.

Korey Smith – 7.5/10

Smith played well in the midfield. He broke up the play well and put in some good tackles. Nothing got past him and his passing game was very strong as well.

Marlon Pack – 8.5/10

Marlon Pack had an excellent game in central midfield. He won a lot of tackles and aerial challenges, and also popped up with a goal. What more could you want from a central midfielder?

Josh Brownhill – 7/10

Had an average game on the right-hand side of the midfield. Worked hard defensively and had one shot at the Birmingham goal.

Milan Djuric – 7/10

Had a good game up front, winning a massive 12 aerial duels. Unfortunately, his end product after winning the challenges was not good and he should’ve really grabbed a goal.

Diedhiou had an excellent game up top for Bristol City. He won eight of his aerial duels and also looked good when he had the ball at his feet. Grabbed a good assist.

Replaced Duric in the 69th minute to give the Bristol attack a little more pace and bite. Didn’t do anything of note.

Matt Taylor – 7.5/10

Came on in the 80th minute to replace Diedhiou and did exactly what you’d want a substitute to do – grab a goal.
