Brilliant Dallas, Average Berardi – The best and the worst rated Leeds players vs Derby County

Derby County 2-2 Leeds United: Frustration For Whites As Last Minute Equaliser Robs Them Of 3 Valuable Points

Leeds United were not able to hold on to their lead as they recorded their second 2-2 draw in a row, against a strong Derby County side. Leeds took the lead against the run of play when Liam Cooper pumped an accurate long ball towards Pierre-Michel Lasogga who headed home to get his third goal in three games.

After providing the assist, Cooper then made a mistake to let in Andres Weimann for the equaliser on the stroke of half-time and hand the initiative back to the Rams. Leeds then took the lead for the second time, through Alioski, who had been on the pitch for only 3 minutes. Leeds’ hearts were then broken in stoppage time as Kasey Palmer scrambled the ball over the line to hand the Rams a point.

Here’s how the Whites fared on the night.

Leeds Player Ratings

Felix Wieldwald – 6

Wieldwald will be very disappointed to have conceded 4 goals in two games, and he would have expected to keep at least one of those out this evening.

Gaetano Berardi – 6

Looked off the pace and vulnerable, especially during a first-half that Derby dominated.

Pontus Jansson – 7

The Leeds rock at the centre of the defence, he did his best to keep the potent Derby attack at bay. He will be livid at the way they conceded.

Liam Cooper – 6

His ball for Lasogga’s goal was beautiful but the subsequent mistake was not. He will not want to watch that once again.

Laurens De Bock – 6.5

Not the best performer. Was put on the back foot by the Derby attacks, most of which came from the wings.

Adam Forshaw – 7

A solid performance. Tried to break up the play but he was not able to get on the front foot as much as he would have liked to.

Ronaldo Vieira – 6

Not great work from the young player. Taken off after 62 minutes having seen most of the game pass him by. He will have many better days to come.

Stuart Dallas – 8

An excellent performance from the winger. Provided an assist and was a constant threat on the counter-attack. Should be happy with his day’s work.

Kemar Roofe – 6

Not the day for Kemar Roofe. Still not able to connect well with his fellow attacking players, and often the balance looks better when he is on the bench.

Pablo Hernandez – 7

The 32-year-old winger had an okay attacking performance but his replacement was the game changer which never reflects well.

Pierre-Michel Lasogga – 7.5

Took his goal really well, and was a constant physical threat to the Derby defence. Faded badly in the second half towards the end.

Substitutes

Samuel Saiz – 6

Not much of an impact but he looks threatening on the half turn.

Kalvin Phillips – 6.5

Attempted to give Leeds more energy in midfield but was unable to help them to their first win since Boxing day.

Ezgjan Alioski – 7

An inspired performance from the 26-year-old. He got the goal to put Leeds in the lead.
