Celtic Player Ratings vs Hamilton: Here’s how the Hoops fared

Celtic eased to a 3-0 win over Hamilton following goals from Ryan Christie, Scott Sinclair and Leigh Griffiths on Saturday.

The Hoops dominated the early exchanges with both Ryan Christie and Odsonne Edouard going close. And Brendan Rodgers’ team getting the breakthrough looked inevitable though, with Ryan Christie giving Celtic the lead after a well-worked short corner between Callum McGregor and Odsonne Edouard.

The champions did grab their second goal in the 68th minute when Mikael Lustig’s cross from the right was met by Scott Sinclair, which took a royal deflection off Scott Martin and went in.

And Griffiths wrapped up the points for Celtic in the 81st minute by smashing a free-kick into the bottom right corner from 18 yards.

Celtic Player Ratings

Craig Gordon – 6/10

Thwarted a rare counter-attack, which was led by Rakish Bingham. Other than that, he had a quiet afternoon.

Mikael Lustig – 5/10

Lustig had a decent game and provided the cross for Sinclair’s goal in the second half.

Mikael Lustig

Dedryck Boyata – 6/10

Boyata kept things tight at the back and was assured in possession.

Filip Benkovic – 6/10

Alongside Boyata, Benkovic kept the Hamilton attackers at bay. It was apparently a very comfortable outing for the Celtic defenders.

Kieran Tierney – 6/10

Got forward well and caused endless troubles to the Hamilton defenders.

James Forrest – 5/10

Worked really hard but it just never clicked for him. He was replaced by Lewis Morgan with six minutes left in the game.

Ryan Christie

Ryan Christie – 8/10

Christie gave the Hoops the lead when he fired home after a corner. Showed his real worth and questioned the Hamilton backline time and again.

Callum McGregor – 6/10

Dictated the tempo of the game from a deep-lying role. He had a very good outing.

Olivier Ntcham – 7/10

A really strong performance from the Frenchman on his return to the side. Chipped in a fantastic ball to set Sinclair on goal and nearly scored.

Scott Sinclair – 4/10

Missed a great opportunity to make it 2-0 when he was one-on-one with Woods. Sinclair was lucky to see his header flicked into the net by Martin though.

Odsonne Edouard – 6/10

Edouard led Celtic’s attack very well. He had a shot deflected just past the post before the break.

Substitutes

Leigh Griffiths – 6/10

Drilled home a fantastic free-kick on his return to the squad.

Emilio Izaguirre – 4/10

Replaced Tierney in the second half and did his job well.

Lewis Morgan – N/A

Didn’t have any time to make an impact.
