Brilliant Bale, Top-class Isco – The best and the worst rated Real Madrid stars vs Celta Vigo

Gareth Bale played a starring role as his brace guided Real Madrid to a 6-0 rout over Celta Vigo in La Liga on Saturday.

Isco, Achraf Hakimi and Toni Kroos were also on the scoresheet along with a Sergi Gomez own goal as the Los Blancos assured themselves of at least a 3rd-place finish this season.

Zinedine Zidane’s Real could still pip Atletico Madrid to second place on La Liga’s final day if they win at Villarreal and their cross-town rivals lose to Eibar.

Real Madrid Player Ratings

Keylor Navas – 6/10

Navas made one good save before half-time to keep Madrid three goals up but apart from that, he was not tested on the night.

Achraf Hakimi – 8/10

Excellent in the attack and took his goal very well. Defensively solid too but he remains as a raw material. Once he is polished, he will be really good for Real in the future.

Raphael Varane – 6/10

Calm and composed at the back, Varane enjoyed a field day against Celta Vigo.

Nacho Fernandez – 6/10

Just like his defensive partner Varane, Nacho also had a day off as Celta Vigo attackers rarely threatened.

Marcelo – 7/10

Marcelo was his usual self against Celta. He spent almost the entirety of the game in the opposition half, providing an excellent attacking outlet from the left. The Brazilian hardly had any defending to do.

Casemiro – 6/10

Casemiro did his job very well from the base of the midfield and intercepted the play. He was lucky not to give away an early penalty for a foul on Blais Mendez but he was solid otherwise.

Toni Kroos – 8/10

Kroos superbly controlled the tempo of the game with his exquisite passing abilities. He was perfect in possession and slotted home Madrid’s 6th goal. Also bagged an assist.

Luka Modric

Luka Modric – 8/10

Industrious and inventive, Modric played some typical defence-splitting passes that set the tempo of the game. He set up Bale’s opener with a delightful measured through ball. The Croat was unlucky to hit the frame of the post. A complete performance from the midfield maestro!

Isco – 8/10

Isco was back to his usual best, gliding past defenders and showing some really silky touches. Played an exquisite ball to Bale for the second goal. The Spaniard scored Real’s 3rd goal, superbly curling the ball into the top corner beyond the hapless Sergio Alvarez.

Gareth Bale

Gareth bale – 9/10

Enjoyed one of the best games of this season as the Welshman breathed fire from the onset of the game. Slotted away the opener after being put clean through by Modric before showing his pace, intelligence hard work and skill to double Madrid’s tally. Proved a point to Zidane that he deserves to start in the Champions League final.

Karim Benzema – 6/10

Benzema seems to have regained his confidence. Worked hard for the team, played some really good one-twos with his teammates and showed great energy overall.

Marco Asensio – 6/10

Replaced Isco and fired a low ball across that was turned in by the Celta defender for Madrid’s fifth.

Borja Mayoral – 6/10

Came on for Benzema and unselfishly teed up Kroos for Madrid’s sixth.

Lucas Vazquez – 5/10

Vazquez replaced Bale but couldn’t impact the game as much as he would have liked to do.
