Brendan Rodgers: Sterling Will Not Get A Bumber Contract

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers warned the new Liverpool wonder kid Raheem Sterling that the club will not yet give him any improved contract.

Rodgers: Sterling will not get a super-duper contract

Rodgers said,

“I want to manage the expectations of the kid. The last thing we need is Sky Sports coming up with a yellow bar saying he has signed a five-year contract after playing two or three games.”

“Many young boys play one or two games, they get handed these super-duper contracts and it goes downhill from there.”

“We don’t want that to happen to him (Sterling)”

“I had a conversation with his agent about the situation and made my statement clear”

“I worked with players at Swansea who had spent their lives in football and not earned more than two grand a week. Now you are seeing these young players who are multi-millionaires. No matter what you say, it takes the edge off them,” he finished.

Come on Rodgers! Sterling (17 years old) already has three kids with two women. May be he needs more money to run the family. :P
