During the course of the last few weeks, Italian club Napoli were being linked with an interest in Tottenham’s Vlad Chiriches, which has now been proved to be true. Apart from the Naples base side, their Seria A rivals Fiorentina were also trying had to secure his services, making it a complicated story. The Florence based club was trying to pay a very small loan fee upfront and then a slightly higher fee later, which would help them sign their target.
It seemed as if the former had a better chance of signing the 25-year old defender, as these terms were not favourable for Spurs and the north London side would not accept them.
Luckily, Napoli did not give up and have now come in and offered a much better deal, as reported by Calciomercato, which states that a fee of €7m including bonuses has been offered for a permanent deal.
The paper also stated that the player was pictured in Italy ahead of a medical examination with Napoli and Tottenham’s Franco Baldini was claimed to be the man responsible for the move that will be favourable for both the clubs.
