Manchester United’s experienced midfielder who was touted to be leaving the club this summer may be set to stay at United.
Carrick who has been an integral part of United’s squad has been left out under Louis Van Gaal and was widely expected to leave the club this summer. However, according to the Daily Mail Jose Mourinho has a different opinion regarding the player.
Carrick was convinced to stay at United and not leave the club this summer after he received a call from Mourinho during his vacation.
Known for his intelligent positioning and calm passing, Carrick was one of the first names in the line up under Sir Alex Fergusson. However the player showed decline in 2015-2016 season under Van Gaal and a lack of in-form midfield partner did not help the situation for the player.
With Wayne Rooney set to stay and Michael Carrick also changing his mind regarding leaving the club, Mourinho is trying to keep some experience in the team which is now filled with only the youngsters.
