Breaking! Italian Sources Confirm Arsenal’s €60m Offer For World Class Striker

Argentine international Gonzalo Higuain is once again being linked with a move to Arsenal and a new speculation has now emerged. Italian publication Corriere dello Sport’s big article on Wednesday confirmed that the north London side had made a €60m offer for the player.

Clarin further added that Higuain wants a move away from Naples, in order to pursue Champions League football, as the Serie A side have only qualified for the Europa League. Further his brother Nicolas will meet Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis to ‘unlock negotiations’ and a deal could go through soon.

Apart from the Gunners, Premier League rivals Manchester United and Chelsea have been strongly linked with a move for the striker, according to the Daily Mail.

Higuain moved to Napoli from Real Madrid back in 2013 and has had a decent two seasons with the Serie A side, scoring 35 goals and providing 14 assists in 69 appearances in the league.

Having failed to sign the striker back in 2013, Arsenal’s renewed interest in signing the Argentine has sparked various rumours since the start of the transfer window. The Naples based club released a statement earlier that the player will be sold only if his release clause is matched.

“The club stresses that the Argentine has an existing contract clause of €94,736,000 [£67 million]. No bids below that figure will be accepted, those who want the player will have to match that valuation,” a statement from Napoli read, as quoted by the London Evening Standard.
