Breaking! FA Takes Chelsea’s Side In The Eva Carneiro Spat, Blames Mary O’Rourke QC

Eva Carneiro

As per reports now, The Football Association received criticism from a medical barrister for just ‘staying silent’ over the poor treatment of Chelsea team doctor Eva Carneiro. The medic has not yet returned to work at Stamford Bridge after her spat with manager Jose Mourinho. Further, Carneiro’s role has been downgraded after she and both head physio Jon Fearn rushed on to the pitch to treat winger Eden Hazard against Swansea City back in August.

Mary O’Rourke QC stated, “It’s disappointing that the FA has said nothing.”

There has been no response from the FA yet, with regards to the comments, as eventually Carneiro and Fearn did do their job.

Though the Blues were reduced to nine men, after goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois was sent off and Hazard had to go off the pitch, Mourinho termed them as “impulsive and naive” and stated that they did not “understand the game”.

Although the Portuguese boss was criticized for his behaviour, he did not back down and the west London side too did not respond.

O’Rourke found this very “interesting” and added, “They’re not alone in saying nothing.”

Speaking at football business conference Soccerex, he also stated, “I don’t believe those medics should be following the game.”

“In my view they have people on the pitch who are their patients. They should be following them only and not the ball.”

The matter is expected to end up in a legal dispute and O’Rourke concluded, “I would hope that because she’s done nothing wrong – in fact perfectly correctly – I would hope we’ll see both of them soon back on the bench.”
