The Premier League champions have been keeping tabs on the football in Portugal in recent times and attended a number of games last season, involving the top four clubs in their league. It was further being stated that the Blues were monitoring some of the games from last season of clubs like Sporting Lisbon, Benfica, FC Porto and SC Braga, with the hopes of signing young talented stars.

O Jogo further revealed that the west London side sent their representatives to the match and were the only English side to watch the opening league game of the season. Sporting Lisbon beat their opponents 2-1, yet it was still not clear whom Jose Mourinho’s side were keeping tabs on.

William Carvalho was not playing in the match, who could have been one of the stars the club were keen on signing, which will once again raise speculations about whether the club has found a new target now or not.
